About Remote Device Wipe

Brinkster's Business Professional email accounts allow users to remotely wipe any mobile device they have configured to sync with their Brinkster email, calendar, or contacts.  This feature only works with devices that are configured to connect to the server using the ActiveSync protocol.  Devices that use an IMAP or POP connection to Brinkster's mail servers will not be able to be wiped.

How to remotely wipe a lost or stolen device

WARNING: The remote wipe process erases all data on the device (not just your email, calendar, and contact information) and returns it to the original factory settings. Be very certain that you want to take this action.

1. Login to your Brinkster webmail account. https://mymail.brinkster.com/

2. Select the Preferences tab.

3. Select Mobile Devices

4. Select the device you would like to erase.

5. Click Wipe All Data from Device.

6. Click OK to confirm.

The next time the device connects to the mail server, it will be factory reset erasing all data that was stored or synced to the device. The Mobile Devices window will now indicate what device has been issued the wipe command.

Please note that if a device is recovered, you will need to remove the device from this window before trying to configure it to your account again. If you do not, it will automatically wipe the device as soon as it is connected again. It is recommended that you keep the device that you have chosen to wipe on this list so the next time it connects to the mail server (if the phone was off or not connected to any network) the device will then be wiped.
